Hello world!

Hello World!

Its been a long time coming… But here it is.

The official C.M. Saunders blog.

This blog will deal mainly with the art writing, charting the trials and tribulations of a struggling (I prefer ‘up-and-coming’) writer while simultaneously making up part of the ‘platform’ every freelance and independent writer needs. Everything I have published, in whatever medium, will be detailed here. I will post sneak previews, exclusive material, and also the occasional book, movie, album or gig review for your reading pleasure.

I will occasionally branch out to include diatribes about my other interests: travel, music, football, martial arts, etc. And I may even describe in detail the odd event in my daily life, if something impresses or depresses me enough.

Whatever the topic, I will endeavour to keep it entertaining if not interesting. I don’t want to waste anybody’s time. Whoever invented the phrase ‘free time’ was talking utter shit. Time is not free.

Time is the most valuable and precious commodity we have.

To quote a popular saying: Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift.

That’s why its called the present.

So true.

On their deathbed, with the final curtain about to drop, the wealthiest people in the world would give all their riches for just a little more… time. But sadly, along with love and happiness, time is one of the few things in life that money can’t buy.

As well as career news and selected life observations, from time to time I will try to provide a few worthy tips for aspiring writers, some words that may raise smiles like rays of joyous sunlight in this barren landscape we call a world, and maybe even the odd strand of hope for the manically depressed or suicidal to cling on to.

If you agree or disagree with anything I say in these blogs I invite you to comment. Its good to talk. If you think I’m being a prick, tell me so. You may be right.

I will try to update this thing on a fairly regular basis, at least once or twice a month. More if I have something to promote or an especially bad day. Soon I will tell you a little more about myself and some of my writing projects. Please check back to this blog regularly, or sign up to receive my updates. We should be friends, because I really should be famous soon. If I’m not then there is something seriously wrong with the world.

 Until next time, peace out…

About cmsaunders

I am a writer. I write. My dark fiction has appeared in Asphalt Jungle, Raw Nerve, Roadworks, Dark Valentine, Screams of Terror, Shallow Graves, Fantastic Horror, Unbroken Water and several anthologies. My first book, Into the Dragon's Lair – A Supernatural History of Wales was published in 2003, and I have also worked extensively in the freelance journalism industry, contributing features to numerous international publications including Fortean Times, Bizarre, Urban Ink, Loaded, Record Collector, Maxim, Nuts, and a regular column to the Western Mail newspaper. I lived in China for over five years where I taught English during my search for enlightenment, before moving back to the UK in January 2013 to work for a men's lifestyle magazine. I was senior writer on Forever Sports magazine and associate editor at Coach magazine, before leaving to chance my arm in the world of pro freelance. In recent times I have devoted more time to dark fiction, my latest offerings being the contemporary ghost story Sker House and No Man's Land: Horror in the Trenches. I am represented by Media Bitch Literary Agency and drink far too much coffee. View all posts by cmsaunders
